Final Day NWSC 2015

Sunday saw the closure of the National Wushu & Sanda Championships 2015.

It was another fruitful and SPECIAL day as our Group Event athletes finally had the chance to compete as a team. Usually, these Xuan athletes compete against one another in the National Schools competitions as they are part of their school teams and all our Xuan athletes are from different schools. On Sunday, these Xuan athletes from different schools are finally fighting as one for Xuan Sports. It made their experience all the more sweeter when they were finally able to compete together. We are proud to say that our 2 Group Event teams are the youngest amongst their competitors. We faced fierce competition from the older athletes as they are physically stronger. Yet, our athletes fought with gusto and although we only clinched the 4th (Boys Team) and 6th (Girls Team) positions out of 10 teams, we are proud to say that we have fought bravely.

The Boys Team comprises: Angus Quek, Jarell Liaw, Keyon Tan, Nicholas Ngooi, Randall Lim & Titus Lim.

The Girls Team comprises: Glenda Ng, Joy Tan, Kacie Tan, Natalie Ong, Shayna Tay & Tan Jia Wei.

Special mention should also be given to the following Xuan athletes:

Randall Lim

Nicholas Ngooi

Wayne Tay

Angus Quek

Keyon Tan

Keyon and Randall were the only two competitors in the Nan Gun (3rd International) while the rest of the athletes mentioned above were the only competitors in their events. As such, they were not given their rightful medals but were awarded certificates of achievements for their performance of the routine for the spectators. Nonetheless, here at Xuan, we take pride in them because of their commitment to perform for the championship in spite of the situation. Well done, boys!

Next, we would also like to congratulate our medallists for today:

Chua Kun Xuan, Bronze, 42-Style Taijiquan, Youth Boys Event
